Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how DocAPI (getdocapi.com) handles information when you use our Air Waybill → JSON API, playground, and website.

1. Who we are

DocAPI is operated by Bowen Wu. Paid checkout, when enabled, is planned through a Merchant of Record (Creem). The MoR may process payment and tax data under its own privacy notice for the checkout transaction.

2. Information we collect

• Account & contact data — email, name or workspace label, and API keys once signup exists.
• Usage & billing metadata — extraction counts, timestamps, HTTP status, plan/credit balance, and (via MoR) purchase receipts.
• Uploads — PDF/image air waybills you submit for extraction, plus derived OCR text and JSON output needed to return your result.
• Technical logs — IP address, user agent, and basic security logs to operate and protect the Service.
• Website analytics — may be added later (e.g. privacy-friendly page views); if so, this policy will be updated.

3. How we use information

• Provide extraction, validators, playground, and API responses
• Enforce free-tier quotas, rate limits, and credit balances
• Process purchases via the MoR and respond to support requests
• Debug failures you report and improve reliability of the AWB pipeline
• Detect abuse and secure the Service

4. Uploads and model training

API and playground uploads are processed to extract fields for you. We do not use your uploaded air waybills to train public foundation models, and we do not sell your document contents. We may retain short-lived processing artifacts (OCR text, JSON, error traces) as needed to return results, bill correctly, and investigate issues. We aim to minimize retention of raw files; operational defaults (subject to change with notice) target deleting or anonymizing raw uploads within a limited window after processing unless a longer period is required for security, dispute, or legal reasons.

5. Sharing

We share data only with processors needed to run DocAPI—for example hosting/CDN, email delivery, LLM/OCR providers used as subprocessors for extraction, and the MoR for paid orders. We do not sell personal data. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety.

6. International processing

Infrastructure and subprocessors may be located outside your country (including outside mainland China). By using the Service you understand that processing may occur in those locations under appropriate safeguards where required.

7. Retention

Account and billing records are kept while your account is active and as needed for accounting and legal obligations. Support emails are retained as needed to resolve tickets. Upload retention is minimized as described above.

8. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures (HTTPS when deployed, access controls on keys and servers). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

9. Your choices

Email support@getdocapi.com to request access, correction, or deletion of account data where applicable. Some records may be retained when legally required. You may stop uploading documents at any time.

10. Children

The Service is directed to business and developer users, not children under 16.

11. Changes

We may update this Policy by posting a revised version with a new “Last updated” date.
